let me tell you about my baby.

my most prized possession is my bicycle, but it’s not because its a fancy expensive machine. This baby has taken me all over the country, won alley cat races, and gets me to the church on time. She’s a chicago built Schwinn Super Sport. The frame was 10$ from working bikes in chicago. I bought it about 5 years ago. The reason it was so cheap is because the rear triangle was broken which usually means death by scrapping to a frame. it had been re-welded and seemed straight enough. since then the diagonal down tube rusted and cracked. I was riding home from school once and noticed that there was a clean cut and two halves of my bike were swaying in the breeze. No problem, weld it and ride it. It’s a converted fixed gear, which we could spend all day talking about. Let me say just because it’s fixed don’t label me a hipster, i’ve been riding long enough to ride what’s best, and this is it.

short story, i love my baby. she takes care of me better than i deserve. We’ve seen a lot together and we’ve been through a lot together. i love her.
