Trading with Bob

Trading was especially fun today.  I got to meet Bob Marks today when he brought an interesting array of trades today.  Not only did he bring me chocolate and water, but he even brought me art and art supplies!  Bob makes these fun interactive paintings in which the viewer gets to determine their orientation.  They are abstract and created as chance operations…he rolls dice to determine colors and shapes he uses.  Anyway, I think his method is really fun and interesting, and he brought Mike and I supplies to make our own.

Here is a piece he made and some various orientations I was playing with…do not mind the makeshift backdrop.

In return, I got to trade a couple of blind contour drawings I made.  I gave him a skeleton I drew with my eyes closed.  I also got to show him how to draw blind-contour when I did a portrait of him.  I never lifted my pencil and I never looked at my drawing.  In return, Bob received a hilarious, gestural portrait and he found a new technique to use with his paintings.  Give and Take! What a fun trade.
