Direct Connect

Thanks to Yvell, we now have the camera connection kit for the iPad. Now we can blog AND post photos directly from the island. There is a connector to the camera as well as to an SD card. Fantastic.

Ok, I Know! it’s a cool toy. but i’m not sold on the idea of having more distractions on the island.  The IMA is trying to figure out how we are going to keep blogging while living in the middle of the lake.  One of the solutions is the use of apples latest release, the iPad.  At first i was disgusted by the thought of having such a trendy expensive piece of equipment on board but I’ve softened up a little.  They let me take one home for the weekend and see if it would be any use.

Let me tell you a little about myself.  I’m the kind of guy who can’t sit in a room with a TV and keep myself from looking at it.  I have to ask restaurants to turn them off so i can talk to my friends.  I have no self control when it comes to escapist distractions. That’s not an argument against these things i just know myself well enough to know what i can handle.  Sure enough this thing is pulling me out of bed at 8am to play with it.  I don’t even have Internet and i can’t keep from doodling around.

Jess is out of town but i talked to her a bit about it. She brought up the good point that it will making updating the blog and frequent tweeting easier and it will keep us from having to go out to the pavilion at night.  Now i’m ok with it, i just hope that she hides it from me if i’m regularly missing the sunset for some youtube videos.
